As part of the IEM series, ESL will host the IEM: Beijing 2020 Online Championship. Matches kick off in Europe and North America today, with a total of $230,000 allocated to all regions.
The group stage format looks pretty standard. 16 teams play in Europe, they are divided into 2 groups of 8 teams each. All matches are best of 3, 4 best teams will advance to the playoffs.
In the playoffs - single elimination, all matches are best of 3, and the grand final is best of 5.

There are 8 teams in North America, with a total prize pool of $50,000. In groups of 4 teams, only 2 advance to the playoffs.
