Virtus.pro come in last at EPICENTER 2019

The Kazakhstani team of Virtus.pro has taken the last place at EPICENTER 2019 in CSGO, earning $10,000 of prize money. While taking part in the Moscow event, VP won only two maps out of the six that they had played.

The debut of ex-AVANGAR under the VP tag was spoiled by
unsatisfying results

In their first match of the tournament, Virtus.pro faced off against mousesports. It was a back-and-forth affair throughout all three maps, but in the end they were defeated with a 1-2 score. On the decider, Dust 2, the Bears lost the game in the second OT, 19-22. In the same series, the Kazakhstani lineup won Inferno 16-11 but was outplayed on Mirage (11-16) due to weak CT performance.

After that, VP played against forZe in the elimination series. They were crushed on the opening, Train 3-16, and on the following map, Inferno, they had to play it back from a 0-11 disadvantage. However, they managed to pull off a comeback on the T side, winning the enemy’s pick 16-13. It led the opponents to Vertigo, where forZe took down the Kazakhstan players 16-10.

Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev was the most valuable player of this match as he averaged a 1.37 rating in three maps (62-37 K-D, 87.6 ADR). The most prominent player of the VP roster - who is also their captain - Jame scored a disappointing KDR (0.76) and left the server with the least amount of kills (33-51 K-D).

The final rating of all Virtus.pro players:

  • Alexey "qikert" Golubev — 1.07
  • Timur "buster" Tulepov — 0.98
  • Dzhami "Jame" Ali — 0.96
  • Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev — 0.90
  • Sanjar "SANJI" Kuliev — 0.87

The last place at EPICENTER was also taken by EHOME. The Chinese team didn’t win a single map, being defeated by Team Vitality and Heroic. In the meeting with the Danish five, they picked up only 6 rounds in total (5-16 Inferno, 1-16 Nuke). As a result, four players of EHOME — SLOWLY, B1NGO, Marek, FIOURN - have the lowest KDRs among all participants of the tournament.

Thus, forZe and Heroic advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the event, to which Natus Vincere and Evil Geniuses had qualified for before them. In the decider matches of the groups, forZe will fight with EG while NAVI will take on Heroic, with both going to battle it out for higher seeding in the Playoffs. The first two tickets to the semifinals were earned by Vitality and mousesports.
