New scandal in the world of Polish CS:GO

ESL Poland tweeted that they caught the x-kom AGO team in stream sniping during the ESL Polish Championship Spring 2021 Grand Final. Recall that the winner of the tournament received a slot for qualifying for ESL tournaments (IEM Colonge and IEM Summer).

Tournament organizers announced they had launched an investigation on May 18 after reviewing a video of AGO players celebrating victory. According to the official statement, there was a computer in the game room with an official stream running on it, which was in sight of "at least two players".

AGO, in turn, provided all the evidence on their part, including a possible scenario of events indicating that this error occurred without malicious intent.

Taking into account all the above information, ESL Poland decided to limit themselves to a less formidable punishment and deprived AGO of the title and transferred it to the HONORIS team. Otherwise, x-kom AGO could be disqualified from all tournaments under the auspices of ESL and banned from participating in them for 2 years.

Quote from the Polish team regarding this situation:

After we receive a written decision from ESL Poland (the official organizer of the tournament, whose rules are signed by the governing bodies of AGO Esports), containing at least a concrete indication of the allegedly violated point of the rules and plausible evidence, we will begin the appeal procedure to ESIC. Until then, our organization will not provide any additional comments.

We consider the current position of ESL Poland as fundamentally inconsistent with the spirit of the sport and contrary to the DNA of x-kom AGO, which we have been building on the principle of fair play from the very beginning.

HONORIS will play in the ESL National Championships Global Playoff: Spring 2021. The winner of this tournament will receive a slot in the Play-In stage of the IEM Colonge, and the second place will go to IEM Summer.
