mouz’s participation in CAC 2019 kicked off in Group B. In the opening match, they won over AVANGAR, but then they were defeated by ENCE Esports. Consequently, the Europeans took second place in the group’s standings and moved on to the quarterfinal stage of the Playoffs.
Taking down Evil Geniuses was the first step that mousesports made towards the trophy. The line-up led by Finn "karrigan" Andersen defeated the #2 team in the world with a 2-0 score. After that, they faced off against TYLOO, who previously headlined Group A. Eventually, the European roster beat its opponent 2-1, but it wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t pulled off a comeback on Inferno. There, mouz managed to recover from an 8-15 deficit to a 19-17 victory.
The Finns of ENCE Esports were the last team the European five battled against. It’s worth noting that they have mouz’s former player, Miikka "suNny" Kemppi. In the end, the EU squad outperformed them with a 2-0 result, winning Train (16-10) and Inferno (16-11).
The final results:
- 1. mousesports ($250,000)
- 2. ENCE Esports ($100,000)
- 3-4. MIBR, TYLOO ($50,000 each)
- 5-6. AVANGAR, Evil Geniuses ($16,500 each)
- 7-8. G2 Esports, ViCi Gaming ($8,500 each)
