The squad that is led by Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer started off its journey by playing matches in Group A, where they managed to take the first place. In the opening game, Heroic defeated Triumph, and in the winners’ match, they overpowered Illuminar Gaming. Beside the Danes, the playoff spots were also earned by Sprout, CR4ZY, and Virtus.pro.
After that, in the semifinal stage of the championship, Heroic met with the Polish five of VP. They beat the "Bears" with a 2-0 score, prevailing over them on Nuke and Vertigo (16-13, 16-12). It was Sprout who became their final rival, as they previously knocked CR4ZY out of the event. In the end, the German team was defeated 0-2 (9-16 Train, 10-16 Inferno), with Casper "cadiaN" Meller boasting the highest rating — 1.73 (50-16 K-D).
The final results:
- 1. Heroic ($50,000)
- 2. Sprout ($20,000)
- 3-4. CR4ZY, Virtus.pro ($10,000 each)
- 5-6. Illuminar, INTZ ($3,000 each)
- 7-8. Chaos, Triumph ($2,000 each)
At this tournament, HLTV did not give the MVP award to the best player as they usually do at big events. However, it was cadiaN who averaged the biggest KDR in his squad. His overall rating after 6 maps stopped at a 1.29 mark. The top of the leaderboard, in turn, was seized by Rokas "EspiranTo" Milaskauskas, who scored 1.32 in 4 games.
