FURIA, G2 through to Champions Cup Finals playoffs

Day One of Champions Cup Finals in CSGO is finished. On its outcome, the first pair of the Playoff participants was defined: FURIA and G2. They took the first places in their respective groups.

FURIA Esports managed to outclass their opposition in Group A. The Brazilians started off by taking a victory over TYLOO on Mirage, where they beat them 16-14 with the help of Andrei "arT" Piovezan’s great performance as he scored a 1.42 KDR (26-22 K-D, 106.6 ADR).

After that, the Brazilian team played against Movistar Riders, who previously defeated ENCE Esports (16-7 Overpass). The Spanish squad put up a decent fight, but FURIA still picked up victories on both maps: 16-10 Inferno, 16-13 Nuke. This time, it was Yuri "yuurih" Santos who delivered an MVP level of play, averaging a 1.21 rating (39-32 K-D).

G2 Esports showed the best result in Group B. In their first match, they met with BIG and won over them on Inferno with a 16-12 score. Audric "JaCkz" Jug boasted the biggest amount of kills in this game (27-12 K-D), and while leaving the server, he had a 1.53 KDR.

Later on, the French-Serbian lineup fought against the Russians of Hard Legion Esports, who took down Team Spirit on Train (16-14) in their debut match. However, in the series versus G2 they didn’t manage to win a single map: 9-16 Vertigo, 7-16 Mirage. Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač was the MVP of this Best of 3 as he had a 1.46 rating (43-28 K-D, 102.2 ADR).

It means that FURIA and G2 are the first teams that are confirmed for the semifinals of the Malta tournament. In the Playoffs, they will be joined by two more squads, names of which are set to be determined on Day Two. As of now, no participant was knocked out from the championship.
