EPICENTER 2019 schedule and format unveiled

Epic Esports Events have shared detailed information about their upcoming CS:GO event. Today, the organizers published the schedule for all matches and explained which format is set to be used at their tournament.

The group stage of EPICENTER 2019 will run accordingly to the GSL system. Upon its completion, six teams advance to the Playoffs: first places of the groups move on to the semifinals, while second and third ones proceed to the quarterfinals. The last phase of the championship is slated to be held in the bracket of Single Elimination. Every single series at the competition will be played in the Best of 3 format.

Eight teams are confirmed to take part in EPICENTER 2019, and five of them are invitees: AVANGAR, Evil Geniuses, NAVI, Team Vitality, and mousesports who replaced FNATIC. The other spots were distributed across regional qualifiers in CIS, Europe, and China, where they were conquered by the DH Winter champions of forZe, Heroic, and EHOME, respectively.

The tournament is scheduled for December 17-22, with all action set to be happening in Crocus Expo Hall, Moscow. The prize pool of the event offers $500,000, one half of which will go into the winners’ pocket. FaZe Clan are the reigning champions of the series, as they defeated NAVI in the final of last year’s tourney. There, the MVP award was given to Nikola "NiKo" Kovač.
